Mr. Teodoro Abad (Jane Angara's grandfather) was recruited to Guam. Below are questions that we asked him regarding about his life on Guam.
- How old were you when you came to Guam? What was your job? Which camp were you stationed at and how many years did you stay at that camp?
- What was your day like? Is it a guarded camp?
- What are some of the things you enjoyed doing at the camp?
- "I was eighteen years old when I came to Guam. My occupation was heavy equipment mechanic and I was told to stay at Camp Quezon and I stayed there for about six to eight years. The laborers from Camp Quezon are mainly from the Northern part of the Philippines."
- "We had to do our job every day, we used trailers to get to the construction site. They served food at
the galley. We had civilian and military personnel guarding us."
- "I enjoyed watching the movies. We had outdoor movies every night and there were no admission fees."
